Secretary report- have all reviewed mtg notes? Yes, fixed some emails, and no objections for mtgs of last mtg\
accept mtg minutes from last- all approved via vote
new info- clarify bylaws to include other community members. Allow folks who do not have kids in school to still participate.
Warn at this mtg that we will make change at next mtg to bylaws\
treasure report- will share statements at each- northfield savings statement- then report any funds going in/out
Ben- sometimes it can just be the amount of $ in accounts as a report out.
Heather- we need one more person for account signatures. In bylaws, just another signatory- need to verify- Ben or Jason can be added at the bank, will communicate
budget- plan for each, but need to plan where money comes from first
Funding sourcing plan first. How? RUHS? Heather applied for the “Music that moves us” Grant
Long term goal for group, from Ben, get people what they need for mat’ls/equipment- but prioritize training/lessons for individuals- add some group lessons etc to practice outside of regular band class. Would like to fund bringing some folks in for those lessons- again long term goal.
T shirts- Izzy put in order for 10 shirts for color guard, purple shirts- ossd marching band blue shirts- unsure if Jackie made progress on others- she’s taken those on
Budget for jazz and color guard- Ben suggests Izzy and Jackie propose some costs. If Izzy and Jackie can provide us some budgetary numbers we can then approve at a future mtg. Budgeting snacks etc for these programs as well
Izzy- cost higher this year for color guard to stock up new mat’l- won’t need a lot more- need to consider after school hours pay. Ben asked for Izzy to put together a number for compensation, and then a pool number with that includes snacks and mat’ls for the next year.
Snacks and marching band budget to come from Miss Hunt- Heather recalled snacks around $450 budget
organizing community help for parade- plan for Ben and Jason to assist with moving equipment. Can still ask other community help via newsletter. Ben- if teachers have a need, then we’ll add those to newsletter as well.
celebritory dinner- we need funding so until then this would need to be a school function
5a sticks given to Jacob, another set for Nora, and Ben will buy another set and provide. Will look through sticks in stock, but shoudl be ok for this year
Update on Chandler music presentation- funding coming from music budget this year.
Ellis music adopt an instrument program- Ask community member for these donations, not Ellis directly- Izzy- we should add this to the Newsletter to help plan for next year. Can set up pay to Ellis for this program.
For school instruments, prioritize preventative maintenance to lessen budget of swapping instruments.
Grant submitted- up to 3 months to get a response.

Jackie joined- Jackie would like to try to get community help and has $200 from brookfield- planning for June 11 year end band event- likely 5pm on a jazz band night- kids will help set up sound, etc- some 6th graders have some songs to share
Jackie making newsletters each week, has 3 to share- promoting events- also will have flyers going through students- with info and volunteer info. INfo for concert and permission slips.
Jackie was supposed to meet with parade organizer but missed the meeting, will try to reschedule this week. Will let group know any other details.
I brought Bob’s straps, Jackie looking at some options.
Izzy asked about if she should reach out to former club members- specifically Gus Johnson- ask about where their funds may be and if they might be able to move them to this group. We agree this is a good step.
For chandler- Jackie would set up wednesday before the show. Jackie need to look at drum kit and number of stands needed. Dress rehearsal will be Thursday AM. Jackie will go over sound. Will only need one other person, Jackie will be talking after Jazz band so one other person helping with directing students and helping move set to put up risers and snapping together. Need stage hands.
For future years it would help for booster to help with budget, currently coming from two of the school budgets…budget was very tight with current method. Chandler is $1075 total for this year building usage. Chandler can promote it as well with a cost.
Part of the boosters role can be building community relationships for further help with events etc.
